Miniature Dachshund puppies for sale

AKC recognizes two Dachshund sizes, and the Miniature is the smaller one, a long-backed hound with a big voice. The Miniature Dachshund puppies listed now come from Duane Borkholder and Mervin Fry.

• Tiny. A Miniature weighs 11 pounds or under and stands 5 to 6 inches at the shoulder.
• Three coats. It comes smooth, wirehaired or longhaired, and AKC says longhaired coats may need more brushing.
• Vocal. AKC scores Dachshunds 5 of 5 for barking and 3 of 5 with young children.
• Protect the back. Keeping a Dachshund lean and watching its activity protects the long back, according to AKC.
