Bringing your puppy home

Every great journey begins with a safe trip home.

One of the most exciting parts of welcoming a new puppy into your family is bringing them home. Whether you plan to travel to the breeder yourself or use professional puppy transportation, there are several ways to make the journey safe, comfortable, and as stress-free as possible for both you and your puppy.

Puppy Connection is a breeder listing and connection service. Because the breeders on our site are independent businesses, transportation arrangements are made directly between the buyer, the breeder, and the transportation provider selected by the buyer.

Your transportation options

1. Pick up your puppy in person

Many families choose to travel to the breeder themselves. This gives you the opportunity to:

  • Meet your breeder in person
  • See where your puppy was raised
  • Ask questions before bringing your puppy home
  • Spend a little extra time with your breeder
  • Begin your puppy's journey home together

For families who are able to travel, picking up your puppy yourself can be a memorable part of the experience.

2. Professional puppy transportation

If traveling to the breeder isn't practical, professional pet transportation can be a convenient alternative.

Pet transport providers specialize in moving pets safely between locations and may offer services such as door-to-door delivery, scheduled pickup and delivery, travel updates, and individualized care during the trip.

Transportation services vary from company to company, so we encourage every family to research the provider they choose and ask questions about their transportation methods, experience, policies, and care procedures.

Before you book your puppy's transportation

Before arranging transportation, we recommend asking the provider:

  • How will my puppy travel?
  • Will my puppy travel with other pets?
  • How will food, water, and bathroom breaks be handled?
  • Will I receive updates during the trip?
  • What happens if weather or travel conditions cause a delay?
  • What are the pickup and delivery procedures?
  • What is included in the transportation fee?
  • What happens if my puppy becomes ill or has an unexpected issue during travel?

It's also a good idea to confirm the pickup date, delivery location, estimated travel time, and any requirements directly with both your breeder and transportation provider before the trip begins.

Important information

Puppy Connection does not transport puppies, arrange transportation, schedule deliveries, collect transportation fees, or act as a transportation broker.

Transportation is arranged solely between the buyer, the breeder, and the transportation provider selected by the buyer. Any transportation agreement, pricing, scheduling, or services are independent of Puppy Connection.

Safe travels, happy arrivals

Whether you decide to drive to your breeder or work with a professional transporter, our hope is that your puppy arrives safely and begins a lifetime of wonderful memories with your family.

We encourage every family to choose the transportation option that best fits their needs while prioritizing the health, comfort, and safety of their new puppy.

Because they're more than just precious paws and puppy breath. They're family.
